Hindsight is 2020

Hindsight is 2020

I’m up early, starting 2021 with Jesus. The whole “hindsight is 2020” has been rolling around in my mind a lot the past few days. Each January, I make time to reflect back on my year: celebrate the good and hopefully learn from the challenges. Sitting on my back porch, the rain is coming down. I set my mind to think of it as cleansing instead of gloomy. I look around the yard, breathing in nature. This particular tree has caught my attention for several days because it is still pretty when everything else has gone dormant. Slowly, I saw...

Does Your Path Feel Janky?

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:6   In what ways do I not acknowledge You?  How has that made my path janky?   I am relearning from an old journaling devotional this morning. Lemonade Stand

Lemonade Stand

I am so excited to share the inspiration behind the painting entitled “Lemonade Stand”.  I am so excited to share the story of this spicy, southern lady...   I have some strong, passionate, tender, fierce girls in my life. You can often, in your best southern drawl proclaim “well...she gets it from her mama”.   Recently one of my best girls lost her mother. It was unexpected. It was shocking. It rocked us all. As chaos settled into the new norm, we took a little road trip, and I asked her to just tell me stories about her mom. ...

Eminent Worship

Eminent Worship

Drowning  The imagery of drowning has been so completely prevalent in my life this year, it almost didn't even surprise me when it was one of the descriptions Ian used.  We were talking out the vision he wanted me to live paint during the ten year celebration of Eminent Worship, a ministry he inherited and has faithfully led.  This time last year, when I launched my writing and completely revamped my vision for Artistic Therapy, I paired it with the song In Over My Head: "And You crash over me, I've lost control but I'm free.  I'm going under.  I'm...
