Falling in Love with Fortune Hole Farms

Fortune Hole Farms If the name sounds dreamy....that’s because it is...a dream...on its way to becoming true. Remember the corded bracelets that were oh so the rage several years ago? When Brett YouTubed it, then quickly made one, Alice said “what about me? I want a bracelet, too”. They used leather from a craft store. A dreamer and a free spirit , Alice cocked her head, looked at her man still scarred from the surgery that miraculously stopped his brain Aneurism from rupturing and challenged him to make her a purse. So he did. With a needle and thread....
Jesus Hangs Out in the Weirdest Places...

If you've been keeping up with my journal (aka blog) lately...you've hopefully seen my travel adventures which have been both amazing and tragic. My birthday camping trip--turned soggy rain-fest found us scrambling for things we could do inside. We originally went to Ellijay, GA for an apple picking festival. When the rain came in like a wrecking ball, basically every single plan we had was under water (including our tent...) We grabbed a deck of cards and a game of pick-up-sticks--{remember that game?? It is so much to capture and often not fully processed until weeks after I get home. But for this trip, how do I casually share that I went really struggling with some things. Really asking the Lord to clean any cobwebs out of my relationship with Him. To help me understand some truths I have been wrestling to understand. Overwhelmingly...He did. I had 3 beautiful living examples—bam bam bam play out before my eyes...
Africa Dreaming in Jean’s house

This is the tenth year since we first left home for a two week trip to the great unknown. Brad and I left baby Asher, and headed to Rwanda, Africa completely unaware of how our lives would forever change. For the next few days, I will open my journal and share some of the things I’ve learned from my 10 years of experience as girl who was awakened from my comfort zone and discovered how it feels to be fully alive. October 3, 2015 This trip has been special because Jean Baptiste and Beatrice have invited us...
